Bail Bond License Renewal
In odd numbered years, bail bondsmen and runners must submit a renewal application, renewal fee, and complete the required CE, pursuant to North Carolina G.S. 58-71-75. All renewal requirements must be completed by June 30 or the bail bond license(s) will lapse.
If a bail bondsman or runner fails to meet the continuing education requirement of three (3) hours pursuant to North Carolina G.S. § 58-71-71(b), submission of the required renewal documentation and fees will not prevent their license(s) from lapsing due to their failure to satisfy the continuing education requirement.
After review of the required renewal documents, the Department may make subsequent inquiries or may proceed with administrative action to ensure that the bondsman or runner continues to qualify to operate in NC pursuant to Article 71, of Chapter 58 of the North Carolina General Statutes.
Pearson VUE will provide license renewal administrative services to bail bondsmen and bail bond runners through the NC License Office of Pearson VUE again for the 2013-2014 license period. Since 2013 is an odd-year, the bail bond license renewal process requires the license renewal fee, completion of required CE, and completion of renewal application.
Pearson VUE has provided an electronic renewal application for bondsmen and bail bond runners to complete online and submit all required fees by credit/debit card or by money order/check. Pearson VUE will charge a $40 renewal application processing fee in addition to all current renewal application fees. All odd year renewal requirements are due by June 30, 2013.
Be Prepared to Receive Electronic Renewal Notifications - Pearson VUE will be sending the 2012 license renewal notification and instructions to bondsmen and bail bond runners through the business e-mail address on the license record on Monday, April 15, 2013. The renewal e-mail notifications with the bail bond licensee’s name, will contain a link to the NC Licensing Management System to access the newly developed electronic bail bond renewal application.
Once you receive the authorization e-mail, you can access the NC License Management System.
