Interpretations Section
The Interpretations Section provides Staff to the NC Building Code Council. Questions regarding the code, interpretations, appeals and other items related to the the development of the code can be sent to the Code Services Section. |

Enforcement Services
TheEnforcement Services Section provides staff for the NC Code Officials Qualification Board. Questions regarding State exams to Code Officials Continuing Education approval and board investigations are sent to this section. |

Private Plan Review
The Private Plan Review Section reviews and approves plans for City/County-Owned buildings in excess of 20,000-sf per GS 58-31-40 and Privately-Owned buildings as established by NC Building Code Council Rules. |

Evaluation Services
The Evaluation Services Section provides staff to address complex projects encountered by code officials. This section does not evaluated a specific vendor’s product for compliance with the code, but does assist jurisdictions in the development of criteria to approve an alternate material or method of construction. Questions relating to materials or methods not prescriptively addressed by the code are sent to Evaluation Services. |

Home Inspector Licensure Board
The Home Inspectors Licensure Board Section Staff approves Continuing Education sponsors and courses; receives complaints against licensees and performs investigations for Board action, and; administers licensing exams required for Home Inspectors and Associate Inspectors. |
