| The Code Services Section provides Staff to the NC Building Code Council and the NC Code Officials Qualification Board. This Section administers State exams to Code Officials and approves Continuing Education sponsors and courses. Additional responsibilities include receiving complaints against Code Officials and performing investigations for Board action, and providing formal technical Code interpretations. |

| The Home Inspectors Licensing Board Section Staff approves Continuing Education sponsors and courses, and receives complaints against licensees and performs investigations for Board action. This section also administers State exams given to Home Inspectors. |

| The Private Plan Review Section reviews and approves plans for City/County-Owned buildings in excess of 20,000-sf per GS 58-31-40 and Privately-Owned buildings as established by NC Building Code Council Rules. This Section provides informal technical Code interpretations and assistance with Qualification Board investigations. |

| The State Property Plan Review Section reviews and approves plans for new construction and renovations of all State-Owned buildings. Additionally, the State Property Plan Review section provides inspection services for key fire protection systems. This Section also assists Risk Management in the inspection and insurance of State-Owned buildings. |
