Home Inspector - Pre-Licensing Information

Staff has received many calls regarding the availability of Board approved Prelicensing Programs [effective October 1, 2011 per N.C. General Statute 143-151.51(a)(5) a.] as an alternative avenue to licensure as a Home Inspector in North Carolina. The intent of this notice is to clarify that the Board has not developed a standard Prelicensing Program at this time. Rather, the Board has adopted rules establishing minimum requirements for Sponsor-created classroom (120 hrs) and field training (80 hrs) programs. Persons interested in receiving email updates should subscribe to the LISTSERVE using the “Get e-mail updates” from box on right.
