| Reciprocity-Transfer of Certifications from another State |

| The North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission grants equivalent certification to any program that is accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board). The Fire and Rescue Commission can not give credit for individual classes or Implied Certificates. Reciprocity will only be given for complete accredited certifications. To check your state’s accreditation status go to www.ifsac.org and www.theproboard.org, click on accredited agencies/entities to view a listing of accredited states. |

| To apply for Fire and Rescue Certification reciprocity you must complete an Application for Reciprocity, mail copies of your original certificates with the accreditation statement/seal and send in written verification that you were a member of a Fire department in the state you are submitting the certifications from to the below address. The verification letter must be on Department letterhead, include your name, last 4 of SS and DOB and must also be signed by the Chief of that department. |
