North Carolina Home Inspector Licensure Board Elects Chairman
Raleigh -- Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Wayne Goodwin announces today the election of the new chairman of the North Carolina Home Inspector Licensure Board.
William Talmadge 'TJ' Jones was elected chairman at the board's regular meeting in Raleigh on July 16. He replaces outgoing chairman Gerald W. Canipe.
Jones became a member of the board in July 2006 and was recently reappointed until 2014 upon recommendation by state Senate leader Marc Basnight.
A native of Dare County, Jones currently chairs the board's Education Committee, which oversees development of continuing education requirements for current licensees and new prelicensing programs for people interested in becoming licensed home inspectors. Jones was the chief building code official for Dare County from 1984 to 2005.
The NCHILB works with the Office of State Fire Marshal's Engineering and Codes Division to protect public health, safety and welfare by regulating licensed home inspectors. For more information, click on this link.
