Pitt County Bail Bondsman Arrested in Undercover Operation

RALEIGH -- Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin today announced the arrest of Faylene F. Little, 56, of 2581 Thomas Langston Road, Winterville; she is charged with two counts of solicitation by a bail bondsman.

Department of Insurance criminal investigators allege that Little solicited bail bond business from two undercover investigators while in the Pitt County Detention Center. The investigation was initiated after the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center authorities contacted the Department of Insurance regarding a growing problem with bondsmen soliciting business at the detention facility, in violation of G.S. 58-71-95.

After an undercover sting operation, coordinated by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center, and the Department of Insurance, Little was arrested and processed in Pitt County on April 23. She was placed under a $5,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Pitt County Court on June 7.

The Department of Insurance employs 20 sworn state law enforcement officers dedicated to investigating and prosecuting claims of insurance and bail bonding fraud.
