RALEIGH -- Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin today announced the arrest of Diego Garrett, 34, of 3700 Cotswold Terrace, Greensboro; he was charged with four counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

Department of Insurance criminal investigators allege that Garrett accepted $5,666 in insurance premiums from four individuals and issued them fraudulent workers compensation insurance certificates when in fact no policies existed.

Garrett was arrested on July 2 in Guilford County and released on a written promise to appear in court.
