The NC Building Code Council adopts and amends the NC State Building Codes as authorized by GS 143-138. Prior Codes, Current Codes, Agenda, Petitions, Hearings, Final Adoption, Minutes, Rules Review.

The 2006 NC Building Codes are effective as follows:
January 1, 2006 - Rehabilitation (online publication)
July 1, 2006 - Administrative, Building, Energy, Fire, Gas, Mechanical, Plumbing (6/1/06 publication)
July 1, 2007 - Residential (1/1/07 publication, tentative)
The following NC Building Codes remain effective:
1995 Existing Buildings (or 2006 Rehabilitation)
1999 Accessibility (with 2002, 2004 amendments)
2002 Administrative, Building, Energy, Fire, Gas, Mechanical, Plumbing, Residential (6-months beyond 2006 Code effective dates)
